Coventry Lake Community Rowing (CLCR) celebrated a decade of making headlines—literally and figuratively! From empowering youth athletes at several high-end regattas (US Rowing Youth Regionals and attending the Nationals in Sarasota FL, the 15th Annual Northeast Fall Championship Regatta, and the Head of the Charles in Boston) to welcoming first-time adult competitors and even launching senior programs, we’re proud to be at the heart of this amazing community.
Our rowers brought their A-game this season, proving that hard work and teamwork truly pay off:
- Men’s Varsity 4+ crushed it with strong finishes and some of the best times yet for CLCR in high school competitions. These guys made every stroke count!
- Women’s 2x and 1x’s rowed with heart and determination, showing their strength and skill in every race.
- Novice? They owned the water, showing off their dedication and quick learning.
To all our youth athletes: You inspire us with your dedication and drive. Keep pushing the limits!
Adults: For the first time ever, our adult rowers stepped into the competitive scene—and they absolutely nailed it! From the early-morning practices to race day adrenaline, they showed us all what it means to try something new and crush it. Watching their journey has been nothing short of inspiring.
Seniors: And here’s the cherry on top of this amazing year: our first-ever senior rowing program in collaboration with Coventry Human Services and the Senior Center! From nervous first strokes to gliding across the lake, our senior rowers proved that rowing is for everyone. Shoutout to our eldest rower, who turned 90 years young this year and showed us how it’s done. 🛶💪
